Vex On Wednesday, May 26 the Weekly Artcast will be hosted by Brian Shearer. Brian is an illustrator who specializes in comic and sketch card work. This will be his second time hosting the Weekly Artcast for the Artcast Network.

From his website:

Brian’s first work was the independent comic GravyBoy first published in 2004 by Jack Rabbit Stewdios. Since then his comic work has included, among others, Doctor Who (IDW), The Dresden Files (Dabel Bros), and Tom Sawyer (Campire).

In 2007 Brian did his first set of sketch cards for Upper Deck’s Marvel Masterpieces series. Since then he has drawn well over 1000 cards for various companies.

In 2008 Brian joined Tsunami Studios.

His first original graphic novel, Vex, is available to read here: http://www.vexthecomic.com

George has spent 10+ years as a freelance cartoonist and specializes in digital and vector art. He is best known for his custom cartoon logos and mascot illustration. He often shares his process on his blog and also shares helpful knowledge and tips via Twitter, where he has a good following. He has recently launched his artcast on Ustream to further share his work and talents with other illustrators.

Otis creates sketch cards and commissions with marker and ink and paints comics digitally in Photoshop. His first original published comic was Oddly Normal, and he recently released the new original webcomic Escape from Planet Nowhere.

Otis Frampton Live regularly broadcasts every weekday at 9 PM ET. He also holds a special show every Sunday at 9 PM ET where viewers can win $7 commissions, which he calls 7-7-Sundays.

He currently works for Disney as a concept artist, and he has put together a special panel of his fellow Disney artists for a live Q&A session on Ustream. Chris Oatley is best known as a great contributor to the artist community via his podcast, Chris Oatley’s ArtCast and his digital painting tutorials. His site is full of great artwork and useful resources for artists of all kinds. He broadcasts occasionally on Ustream as an extension to his regular podcast.

The show will be on Wednesday April 28, 2010 and will start around 10:30 PM ET / 7:30 PM PT (note the different start time from our usual Weekly Artcasts). Hope to see you there!

Dani is a children’s illustrator who has been published in picture books, magazines, and educational material. She also recently launched her first webcomic, My Sister, the Freak. Dani is the creator and operator of the Artcast Network.

Dani Draws LIVE regularly broadcasts every Tuesday-Friday at 10 AM ET. Her show includes digital paintings and demos, comic work, and watercolor/gouache doodles.

The special Screening Room event will take place on Wednesday April 21 at 9 PM ET. Dani will be painting a sketch card to be given away at the end of the show. Hope to see you there.

In 2009, he self-published his first mini-comic, Green Monk. He currently works at EA Salt Lake as a concept artist. This will be his second time hosting the Weekly Artcast for the Artcast Network.

Brandon streams regularly on his artcast Brandon Dayton – Drawing Live every Monday at 7 PM MST (9 PM ET). His show is a consistent favorite here on the site.

Rob Smith Jr. This Wednesday in the ACN Screening Room, cartoonist Rob Smith Jr. will be hosting the Weekly Artcast.

Rob is known for his work as an editorial cartoonist, caricaturist, and illustrator. He has nearly 30 years of experience and is currently the education chariman of the National Cartoonists Society. He runs two Ustream shows – Cartoonist-at-Large which highlights his general cartooning and illustration work, and Rob’s Right, which has a more political slant and focuses on his editorial cartoons.

Awesome to the Maxx!! The Weekly Artcast on Wednesday will feature brothers Danny and Yoni Limor who run the Ustream show Awesome to the Maxx!! Newman specializes in vector graphics for poster and t-shirt art for online sites such as Metal Ink, Cameesa, Ript, and Nomoretees.com. You can find a lot of his work under his own brand name “Quakerninja”. His unique style features a lot of abstract design and heavy line work.
